In 2012 i started something new, beside my work as an accountant in a big company I thought I might start something new and well more mother and housewife like, years later I read about the woman in the bible – the proverb 31 woman =„She procures a supply of wool and flax and works with willing hands. ה
When it snows, she has no fear for her household; since all of them are doubly clothed. מ She makes her own quilts; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. נ“
Mishlei (Pro) 31:13, 21-22 CJB
while it wasn’t clear for me at this time I started something good and life-changing.When I started some small projects in 2012 I soon found out, that I’m not the “clothes-crocheter” but more the baby blanket crocheted type. The first blanket was for my little boy, who was 1 – nearly 2 years back then. The first blanket took more than 1 year to finish, as I worked on it besides working, studying and being a single mother in Australia as an international student. My first blanket is actually bigger than a normal. Any blanket seize – 1,25 x 1,05m in a wave pattern. When I returned back to Germany in late 2014 I continued crocheting different baby blankets as presents for baby shower parties and of course for my own kids. One of my favourite measures 90x70cm and is real cute in colours. It depends on the yarn, the pattern and of course the measurement on how big the blanket should be, to calculate the time and the amount of yarn of course.Since 2018 I start to sell these baby blankets, I will upload pictures of already finished – ready to sell – blankets, and I’m happy to receive orders on blankets that you would love to buy.As I said before, depending on the yarn the time-frame creating such a unique baby blanket varies.I’m using 100% cotton, 100% wool or other baby friendly yarn only.Still I’m trying to use yarn that can be washed at 30 degree in your washing machine, to keep those beauties clean.
You want a special baby blanket for your baby, your friends baby or as a special gift? You can write a direct message for any questions or enquiries and of course leave a comment under every blog post I’ll create publishing new projects and finished blankets.
